  • Mohamed Shafik is a LLM, MRICS, MCIArb, BSc. Civil engineer with more than 21 years of experience in Contracts administration, Claims preparation and negotiation and Dispute Resolution. His portfolio is diversified as he acquired experience, inter alia, in building, infrastructure, mixed use, refineries, steel buildings, industrial buildings and metro project. In addition, he is bilingual (fluent in English/French) and a native Arabic speaker.

  • Vast experience in drafting all kinds of contractual documents, such as:

    • Main Contracts,
    • Sub-Contracts,
    • Professional Services Agreements,
    • Joint Venture Agreement,
    • Settlement Agreement,
    • MOU and
    • Contract Addenda.
  • Experienced in the management of the whole tendering process both at the Contractor’s side and Client’s side. 
  • Dispute Resolution, such as:-
    • Full management of litigation procedures on behalf of plaintiffs or claimants (more than AED 100 Million cases won in front of UAE courts).
    • member in Dispute Adjudication Board (DAB) under FIDIC 1999,
    • member in various Resolution Committees for ADR formed under ad-hoc Contracts.
  • Experienced in all types of form of contracts:-

    • FIDIC: Red Book (1987 amended 1992), Rainbow Suite 1999 (Red, Yellow, Green and Silver books).
    • various ad-hoc forms of contracts, such as the ones prepared by Samsung, SKEC, Daelim, Adnoc, Tecom, SMS-Meer, Siemens, DOPA, etc. 
  • Preparation and negotiation of all types of claims, such as Extension of Time Claims and their associated prolongation cost claims and claims for losses/expenses and variation claims.
  • On the academic side:-

    • holder of Masters of Law (LLM) in Construction Law from the University of Salford, UK- Grade : Distinction.
    • MRICS (Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors #1224252)
